This video post will show you how to use the Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) standard integration to Microsoft Project. It will also share some insights on which Agile templates that are available out-of-the-box in VSTS. Everything shown in the video is using the free and standard connector between VSTS and Office (Project, Excel and PowerPoint).
In summary, VSTS can easily connect to Microsoft Project and synchronize work items, and the status, both ways. This way, the detailed activities can be planned in VSTS and the overall plan and business case, managed in Microsoft Project Online.
I have heard some mention that the connector between Microsoft Office and VSTS requires Visual Studio. However, this is not the case as you simply need to install the connector “Team Foundation Server Office Integration 2015”.
