As announced in my previous post, the latest updates coming to your Project Online tenant include some performance and configuration improvements. Basically, its centralized around the Project Center page (webpart), which now offers two new features:
- Disable the Gantt Chart
- Disable rollups of column values
Disabling the Gantt Chart allows you to create are more “controller” friendly view in particular strong for financial management. It also removes the splitter completely making the view more clean and easy to navigate.
Disabling the rollups is mostly about performance improvements. Having many rollups, groupings and projects is sure to reduce the load time of your Project Center view. By disabling these rollups I personally experienced close to 30% faster load time.
